Therapy Intensives in Youngstown Ohio & Online Throughout Ohio
Accelerated support to help you reach your goals faster
Therapy intensives offer a different path to healing compared to the traditional pace of therapy.
Intensives provide personalized support in a flexible way with longer sessions over fewer appointments.
How do I know if therapy intensives are right for me?
You’ve tried therapy before but it felt like it was just a lot of checking in and “how was your week?” You want action steps.
Your schedule is tight and a weekly commitment to therapy just doesn’t feel do-able right now.
You’re concerned about how long you would have to work with the therapist to start feeling like things are improving. Don’t some people stay in therapy for years? You want to feel better now.
You’re at a point where you need things to change. And you’re ready to do the work.
You don’t necessarily want to spend time talking about the past and how you got to the place you are now - you want to move right to what to do about it.
How do therapy intensives differ from traditional therapy?
-
A therapy intensive is a completely personalized therapy experience where your goals are the top priority. Intensives can be between 1.5 hours to 3 hours per session, and can cover between 1-3 specific topics/goals in depth. The more spacious timeframe of the intensive allows for deeper exploration of the topic, which makes intensives an efficient way to make progress and gain insight quickly.
-
The content is entirely up to you based on the type of support you need.
As part of the intensive package, we will have an initial individual goals session (30 minutes) where you will tell me about what you hope to gain from the intensive. After this first meeting, I will develop a personalized content plan for your intensive experience.
Imagine a blend of therapy and a workshop - I’ll be switching between my therapist and teacher hats throughout our time together.
-
Again, that is entirely up to you and your goals!
Some clients actually prefer the intensive model over traditional therapy because it allows them to have longer sessions less frequently, which gives them time to implement what they learned between intensives. This can be a great option for people with challenging schedules or who travel for work, as it allows them to fit their personalized care into their real life.
Some clients feel complete after one scheduled intensive, depending on the specific skill or support area they are focusing on. Or you can consider having an intensive “check up” again at a future date. There are lots of ways a therapy intensive can fit into your goals.
-
Yes and no.
Because a therapy intensive is a condensed, individualized therapy/workshop hybrid, yes, the prices ranges do reflect the accelerated pace of the support and are more expensive per hour than traditional therapy.
However, a therapy intensive that helps you reach your goals quickly could be significantly less expensive overall compared to a more traditional weekly or every other week therapy appointment with an hourly rate.
What’s best for you will be based on your specific goals, time constraints and whether you want a longer term therapeutic support partner or a shorter term, more focused experience.

The cost can vary, but typically they range between $500 - $750 for up to a 2.5 hour intensive.
Each intensive package will include a 30 minute planning session with me where we will discuss your goals in detail and you can let me know what you have tried before, what didn’t work for you, etc.
After that session, we can schedule a 1.5 hour up to 2.5 hour follow up intensive session that covers the areas you identified as top priorities (generally 1-3 topic areas per intensive, although this can vary depending on the support needs for each topic).
I also offer a 30 minute post-intensive follow up session to check in with progress and help answer any additional questions. At that time we could determine if you feel like you have what you need from the experience or whether you might need longer term support.
